The BC Wildlife Federation is the largest and oldest conservation organization in British Columbia. The BCWF Vision is “Leading the conservation and wise use of British Columbia’s fish, wildlife and habitat.” Our Mission is: “To protect, enhance and promote the wise use of the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.” To carry-out our mission and vision we value stewardship, education, science and partnerships. The proceeds from the 2022 Conservation Lottery 50/50 will be distributed between the following projects:

  • 1. Controlled burns in the dry interior. We are jointly working with First Nations, the province of British Columbia, the government of Canada and British Columbia to return controlled burns to the land combining Indigenous knowledge and western science.
  • 2. Southern Interior Mule Deer Project and Chronic Wasting Disease Initiative in BC deer, moose and elk.
  • 3. Wetlands and fish and habitat restoration. The funding will support wetlands and fish habitat education and restoration with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
  • 4. Fishing Forever. In this program participants of all ages, abilities and mobility challenges can learn to fish and enjoy the outdoors.
